Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. In the state of Ohio, we have what is called Direct Access, meaning you don’t need a referral from a physician to see a Physical Therapist.

Is an internal pelvic floor exam necessary?

An internal exam of your pelvic floor muscles can be a very helpful tool in treating pelvic floor dysfunction. However, it isn’t necessary. Internal exams are ONLY done with your consent and if you’re comfortable.

Do you accept insurance?

In order to provide the highest quality, 1 on 1 care, we do not accept insurance. However, you may be eligible for out-of-network benefits/reimbursement through your insurance company. You’ll need to submit your Superbill, which will be generated and sent to you following each appointment. We encourage you to check with your insurance company ahead of time regarding these benefits.

How often will I need to come? How many visits will I need?

Usually, you will be seen once a week initially until your pain and/or other symptoms are better controlled. After the first several visits, we will begin to spread your visits further apart. This varies depending on the severity of your symptoms and how long they have been present. Typically, patients are seen anywhere from 6-12 visits, however, you may need more or less than this. It’s important to remember that this is a general guideline. You and your Physical Therapist will decide on a plan of care and number of visits together during your sessions.

FAQ

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your Physical Therapist will perform a complete evaluation of your symptoms in a private room. This includes a thorough history and intake as well as a physical exam. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing.

What if I’m on my period?

You can still come to your session! An internal exam is only one tool used in treating pelvic floor dysfunction. Internal exams can be performed while on your period, but it’s dependent on your comfort level. There are many other things we can work on besides doing an internal exam and/or treatment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, credit cards, and debit cards, as well as FSA and HSA cards. Payment is due in full at the time of service.

Can I bring my baby/kids with me to my appointments?

Of course! Moms deserve to take care of themselves, too, and we understand you may not always have childcare available. Children are always welcome in the clinic. If you have older children, it’s fun for them to see mom take care of herself and for them to be involved in the process as well!
